About
the Ameripaca farm:

Ameripaca Alpaca Breeding Company is located in the rolling
hills of Galesville, Maryland on 116 acres of historic farmland,
part of which was once farmed for alfalfa and tobacco crops. Today,
the old barn and original house have been replaced by our private
residence, as well as at least 10 other barns/buildings. Crops are
no longer grown on the main Ameripaca fields, as all have been converted
to grass pastures for maintaining our current herd of over 300 alpacas.
As with most livestock farms, the alpacas are divided into
groups of similar age, sex, and breeding status. Of the 10 barns
at Ameripaca, some are simply typical 3-sided barns to give the
alpacas in that area a place to seek shelter from the elements.
Some of the other, usually larger, barns have more sophisticated
purposes. Click on the link below to see a pictorial tour of our
farm where you can learn more about how the Ameripaca farm is organized
and about some of the parts necessary to manage a large herd of
alpacas.
